Chapter 8

In chapter eight Alice stumbles across the garden of the Queen, she is confused because they are painting roses. The Queen comes out of the castle and sees Alice, she challenges Alice to a game of croquet. When they play the queen doesn't really know how to play, the let her win, but when she doesn't win she cuts the head off of the hole, the object used in croquet game all move. Queen Victoria was very ruthless, no one really liked her, and she showed no emotion. (Golf Resort Destinations. (n.d.). In the story they played croquet, in 2016 the game that is somewhat like croquet is golf, only rich people play because they are both very expensive sports and croquet was a very social game, but it was not very serious, just like golf. If you were to beat the queen in croquet she would kill you. Now people play golf, but you can't just show up they have to invite you. The queen invited/forced Alice to play croquet with her. In the story Queen of Hearts represents Queen Victoria. Queen of Hearts is very ruthless just as Queen Victoria was. They would order for someone to get their head cut off as soon as they did something they did not like. In the story the hole wasn't in the right spot so she ordered them to cut off his head. In Chapter Eight there are many archetypes like the rose tree, the people were painting the rose tree red. The archetype red represents passion, so that means that the queen must have been passionate about that rose tree. The people that were painting the tree had numbers as names, such as “Two” and “Seven”. The archetype two represents duality like the sun and moon, and the archetype seven represents perfection.

Chapter 6

In chapter 6 Alice stumbles across the house of the duchess. When she went into the kitchen it was very Smokey, smoke is gray, and the archetype gray represents confusion. She didn't know what was going on and didn't know what she was going to walk into so she was confused. She walked into a room with a mother, chef, and a baby boy.

Orlando

The kids’ parents are very rich and busy, so they hire a nanny. Just like the Duchess, she just handed the baby off to Alice so she can leave. In the show it shows how they just handed their kids off to random people. Before the parents in left they found out that the nanny quit, Jessie was kicked out of a taxi because she couldn't pay him. The parents saw Jessie, a random person off the street, and hired her to watch their kids. She also had a chef that didn't like her very much. Just like the show “Jessie” they had a chef that didn't like the children at all. The author of the book Lewis Carroll was very weird, he didn't like boys very much. In the story she duchess had a baby boy, this baby wasn't a regular baby, and it was a pig baby. In the story it seemed like the duchess didn't like her very much. David Pelzer was abused so much he nearly died, this book is based off all true events in his life.  The duchess beat her baby whenever he sneezed, but in the book a child called it the mom beat him whenever she felt like it. Even now parents are still abusive, some things from the Victorian era are still here.

In chapter 6 “Pig and Pepper” the baby gets abused when he sneezes and this scene reminded me of a movie called "The GIRL NEXT DOOR" it reminded me of this move because a teenage girl Blythe Auffarth gets abused by her caretaker Blanche Baker.she got her neighbors who were young boys to torment the girl.

Chapter 5

In chapter 5 Alice stumbles across a talking caterpillar on a mushroom. The caterpillar gives her many pieces of advice because she is stuck, afraid, and does not know what to do.

1. In chapter 5 Alice got very angry at the caterpillar, so the caterpillar told her to keep her temper. In this image it is a baby that is upset because he did not get what he wanted.

2. The caterpillar also told Alice that she needs to beware of her surroundings because bad things may happen and you will never know it. I connected this to the first chapter of the book because if Alice was aware of her surroundings she would have never went down the rabbit hole . 3. The caterpillar told Alice that one side of the mushroom makes her taller and the other makes her shorter. This is an image of 2 people, 1 is short one is tall 4. Chapter 4

In chapter 4 there is a big identity crisis, we hear about a queen for the first time ever. We do not know what she looks like quite yet, but we do know that the white rabbit is her servant. I would also specifically compare this image to Alice. The signs are exactly describing Alice. Alice is confused in wonderland, she doesn’t even know how she got there, but she is lost and needs help to find her way home. There are many different characters revealed in this chapter, you could compare this chapter’s character to many forms of sentences. Simple Sentence- simple sentences are simple, independent and strong. In the chapter Alice and the white rabbit are very similar to this form of sentence. Alice tries to know everything she can without any help. The rabbit believes that he is a know-it-all and he tries to boss everyone around. Compound Sentence- they are two independent clauses joined by something. In the chapter Alice and the rabbit are 2 totally different people, but they are joined by wonderland. Also the dog, the dog has two totally different personalities, but they are joined by the dog and his body. Complex Sentence- two different things that are alike. Someone similar to this in chapter 4 is Alice. Alice needs help from everyone to guide her through wonderland, but she is alone. An archetype that is similar to Alice is grey because she is confused and when it might rain the clouds turn gray. The clouds are confused on what to do. Also the caucus race is similar because different people of all shapes and sizes, but they are still brought together by the caucus race. (We're Off to See the Wizard! I would compare alice to the movie “The Wiz” because Dorothy got sucked into this other world just like Alice. In the movie Dorothy also tries to be independent, but she needs help from the people she met on the way to find her way home and in the story so far Alice is walking around looking for a way home, but she is going to need help.

Chapter 3

 The purpose of chapter 3 is to make fun of the caucus race, but it also shows that having caucus races are pointless. I would compare this to this image, (Pointless memes - Google Search. (n.d.). Retrieved April 05, 2016, from https://www.google.com/search?q=pointless memes)   

I would compare it to this because the caucus race basically says “pointless in front of your race, but it's behind the word “caucus”. This picture is a parody satire version of the caucus race. This image shows that even though they know the caucus race is pointless they still try it. The image shows that the person knows that pressing the button will be pointless, but they still do it. Just like when people argue over dumb things that in the end it doesn't solve anything. They know it's going to be pointless, but they still do it. In this chapter there is a form of satire called dramatic irony. Dramatic irony is where the characters know something that another person in the story does not. The animals participated in the caucus race even though they knew was pointless, but Alice doesn't know. The animals do not tell Alice that the caucus race is pointless so she participates in it with the animals. At the end of the “Caucus race” Alice realizes that caucus races are pointless. Caucus races in political events voter turnouts are 7.6% while voter turnouts in primaries are 30.3%. This information shows that caucus races are really pointless, the proof is in the numbers. Another form of satire in this chapter is Verbal Irony.

Retrieved April 06, 2016, from https://www.google.com/search?q=satire meme)The image an example of verbal irony, verbal irony is basically a way of emphasizing folly (stupidity) this picture reminded me of the part in chapter 3 video when the man had all the animals running around in a circle and in order for Alice to be able to leave he said she had to also jump around in the circle with the animals and i feel that is “pointless” and “folly(stupid)” because there was no point of doing that and the entire video was “pointless”, chapter 3 video is the same as the image above because the caption says “why don't poor people just buy more money?” And i feel that this is verbal irony because it was an unnecessary comment that could may be answered by themselves and i felt it was a great example of verbal irony.

Chapter 2

 In this chapter Alice thinks that it’s the end of the world when she gets too big and doesn't know how to get down, she acted very dramatically, she overreacted. In chapter two Alice was very dramatic when she couldn’t get help and in this video clip Demi Lovato cried because her friends left her side because she got caught up in her lie. Alice gets upset because of her own mistakes, in Alice’s time young girls aren't allowed to wander off on their own. Young girls are supposed to be supervised at all times. In the movie Demi Lovato (Mitchie Torres) cries an ocean as well when she gets caught up in her lie, Alice snuck off to chase the rabbit. When Alice realizes what she did was wrong she cries an ocean, in the caught up in a lie. They relate because they both were doing these they weren't supposed to do and when they got caught they cried a pool full of tears. If someone was in the cafeteria acting dramatic I would just look at them and laugh because they are making a fool of themselves in front of the entire lunchroom. Some people would laugh, but I think that you are not respecting yourself if you make a scene in front of the whole school, or in public. Another example is in the movie called High School Musical. Retrieved March that reminded me of Alice in the Rabbit Hole from High School Musical Stick to the Status Quo and the scene I felt that went along with  Alice being dramatic was when Gabrielle accidentally slipped on milk and her food went flying in the air and landed on Sharpay, Sharpay was very dramatic and I feel that she could've handled it better and it reminded me of when Alice was trapped in the rabbit hole and kept crying and crying because she wouldn't be able to get out of the rabbit hole. If something like this ever happened in the cafeteria I would probably just look at the person who is being dramatic and may start laughing and just mind my own business because I know most likely the reason why they are being dramatic is for attention and nowadays a lot of students our age loved being attention seekers. 

Alice is a very curious young girl, but finding the answers to all your questions is not what it's made up to be. Alice had to find this out the hard way. In the movie “Finding Nemo” Nemo wandered off without his parents because he thought it will be fun. In the rising climax of the movie Nemo quickly realized that being independent is not all what it’s cracked up to be. In the story Alice tried to find the answers to her curiosity, but realized that she was wrong for leaving her older sister. Not only did Alice wander off she fell down a rabbit hole. In the story Alice falls down in a pile of leaves, the pile of leaves resembled that she is maturing. When Alice fell down the hole she was no longer a little girl. When she fell down the dark hole she was very scared at first, darkness or black symbolizes death or the end. This means that it was the end of Alice being a little girl. Alice is also a very young girl and this represents innocence so when she fell down the hole it represented the end of her innocence.When she got to the end of the dark hole she had to get a key off of a 3 legged table, the table symbolizes strength. Also in the chapter Alice faced an invisible monster called peer pressure. Retrieved March 23, 2016, from http://kidshealth.org/en/teens/peer-pressure.html)peer pressure can mean all sorts of things it can be positive,negative or even both but in the the second video of Alice in Wonderland  Alice was being peer pressured because the doorknob said she had to drink the bottle that had a  “DRINK ME” tag on it in order for her to be able to get pass, Alice read the directions and began to say what it smelt like, Alice took sips after sips and was seeing what the stuff taste like as Alice was tasting the drink she began to shrinking. After the doorknob pressured her into drinking the stuff he began to laugh and thought it was funny and tricked her and said he forgot to tell her that he is locked and she will need the key to unlock the door for her to get passed. The key happen to appear under the table and Alice is really short and was trying to climb up the table for her to get the key but she kept falling because the table was slippery. Then a box appeared with something saying “EAT ME”  then Alice ate it and she became really tall and started to cry because she could not get passed the door for her to get her rabbit and then while she was crying because she was big the tears were big also and began to flood the place and Alice seen the bottle that said “DRINK ME” on it and she drank it again shrunk again and Alice fell in the bottle and was floating in her tears.
